Everything is on site at Grange Park, home of the Long Eaton United Community FC Academy. All the football element of the programme is at the fantastic training facilities at the ground whilst we can also use the Active Nation gymnasium in Long Eaton for our weights development programme.
When it comes to the training element of the programme, the Academy has a wide array of choices to use. We are lucky to have the NJD Community Football Arena, a state of the art 3G facility that is ours to use throughout the week. There is an 11v11 full size pitch which is maintained to the highest standard, and 4 other junior pitches that can be used for small sided games and training drills. The Academy also has to hand 2 x Astro Turf 5 a side courts where lots of technique and training drills can be carried out.
All of our league games are played on the 1st Team pitch at Grange Park or on the NJD Arena. We also have the use of 4 full sized changing rooms at the ground with showers in each. We really are spoilt for choice in all football areas. The work that has been carried out over the last 8 years at the club shows that we are always looking to improve the already magnificent facility at Grange Park.
It is great to see Dutch backing a project that will go from strength to strength. His knowledge in setting up successful academies, both on the pitch and also in the classroom, is second to none. I will be keeping a close eye on the next young footballer to progress from the Long Eaton United FC Academy.
